Boston Convention and Exhibition Center is dedicated.

Architect: Rafael ViƱolay. And HNTB. Operated by the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority, it is located at 415 Summer Street. Its construction was authorized by the Massachusetts legislature in 1997 and began in 2000. At 2.1 million square feet it is one of the largest buildings in New England and is as long as the Empire State Building is high. Built originally to host larger events, it subsequently replaces the Hynes Convention Center, which is slated to be sold by the state.
